Description

● The fruit body of Hericium erinaceus is head-shaped, unbranched, white, and the fruit body of dried Hericium erinaceus is white with yellow in color. The size is 5-20 cm, fleshy, solid inside, and stalkless. The base is narrow, and the base of artificially cultivated Hericium erinaceus is often stalk-shaped because it grows beyond the mouth of the bottle or plastic bag. Except for the base, the surrounding body is covered with bacterial spines, and the spines are drooping, resembling a monkey head. The spines are 1 to 5 cm long, needle-shaped, and 1 to 2 mm thick. The spores live on the surface of the thorn, spherical, diameter (5.5~7.5) microns x (5~6) microns, containing oil droplets, and the spores pile up white.
